our mission
Molly Inspires foundation was established with two main objectives in mind; to help dogs with special needs and provide the tools for special dogs to help people.
Our intention is to
- reduce the number of dogs with special needs produced due to poor breeding practices and euthanized due to the lack of education and/or funds to support their needs.
- create educational tools to allow special dogs to teach children how to respond to disabled individuals.
our programs
education
Dogs with special needs provide a platform for character education in the classroom. Children learn life lessons from children's books by authors deciding to use animal characters to communicate human issues. We use this same concept by bringing special dogs into the classroom to provide children with an opportunity to ask hard questions about the serious subject of people with special needs. We try to remove the fear and sadness and introduce the children to a new positive way of thinking. At the same time, during this lesson the children learn about the special dog in their classroom and how to be kind to animals.
breeder integrity
A web-based system allowing people who have purchased their dogs to critique the breeders and pet stores they purchased from. This valuable information will be posted on our site with a rating system that will allow people who are planning to purchase a dog to review the comments and make a more educated decision. This adds a level of due diligence currently not available to the public.
rescue
Millions of dogs with special needs are euthanized each year due to people turning their dogs over to shelters because they couldn't or didn't want to care for them any longer. The problem is most rescue groups can not afford the additional cost to care for these dogs not only due to possible medical attention necessary but because dogs with special needs will stay in shelters longer waiting for a loving home. We provide grant money to organizations to help offset the additional expense.
